Remember, when buying diamonds, the grade is not about the quality, but the rarity. So you can have a very rare diamond that gets a high grade even if it's not attractive.

Note: Not all girls want the huge diamond engagement ring. Females in Chicago have been known to want different things that make the rings unique. Like adding other gem stones and maybe not getting a diamond at all. Also very few women want that huge ring that weighes the hand down. Contemporary research shows they want a ring that compliments their hand and body, not be the focus of it.

Visiting a Chicago pawn shop to buy jewelry is not acceptable. Pawn owners have limited ability to value the jewelry and you don't know if it was solen or not.

Ask the jewelry how different cuts will affect the how the ring looks. Sometimes if you like the gems and the gem arrangement, having the gems cut differently may make the difference. Good luck and remember to do your research for the perfect Chicago jeweler. Make sure diamonds have a GIA certificate.
